REDROW SHOOTS FOR SKY-HIGH DONATIONS TO HELP THE INDEE ROSE TRUST, Feburary 2013

A DONATION of £4,000 raised by Redrow staff from a day of clay pigeon shooting will go towards helping children who have been diagnosed with a brain or spinal tumour.
Housebuilder Redrow teamed up with The Indee Rose Trust for the event in Dartford, Kent, and raised £4,000 for the char...ity, which provides treasure boxes of gifts and toys to children in hospital.  A team of 60, including Redrow staff and sub-contractors, boosted the charity’s funds through an entry charge as well as various penalties, including bad shots.
Sarah Quigley, commercial administrator at Redrow (Eastern), said: “I think the amount raised shows how many bad shots there were on the day! But we all had a fantastic time and we are delighted to support such a worthwhile cause.

“The money we have raised will help many children and families going through such a difficult time. The day was such a great success that we hope to make it an annual event.” More...
The Indee Rose Trust charity was founded in July 2009 in memory of Indee Rose who was diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was just three years old. The aim of the charity is to help children and families who have been diagnosed with a brain or spinal tumour. The trust provides treasure boxes to children who have been hospitalised while receiving treatment and also provides a one-off grant to help the family during the difficult time.

Indee’s father and founder of the trust, Russell Dopson, said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Redrow for the incredible donation, the money will have a massive impact on our fundraising efforts. “The idea of the treasure boxes has really taken off since we started the trust and now we’re working to put together around four boxes a week at a cost of around £400 each.

“Each treasure box is specific to the child as we talk to the parents about their favourite things before putting the box together. For children it could be a box full of toys and games, then for teenagers it could include an iPod or iPad, each one is different. The £4,000 raised by Redrow will pay for around 10 treasure boxes, which is amazing.”
